Teva Tip 18 - Tin Can Flashlight
Here is a great way to make a flashlight using a candle. This is something you should do only under adult supervision. Use a regular "tin
can" from canned peas or chickpeas or something. You can any size can. The regular 12oz size provides the most focused light. Empty the can and rinse well. Poke a hole in the side of the can
about 2" from the sealed end. If you use a knife, be EXTREMELY careful. Best to use an awl or even a flat head screwdriver. Make the hole large enough for the candle you will poke through it.
Insert your candle by turning it back and forth. If need be, bend the inner pieces of torn metal aside to allow the candle to enter. Use a long match or piece of wood to light the candle. Wallah – a
perfect flashlight that will give you focused light over quite a ways. Try it and see.
