The Evening Stars

If you ever need a reminder of God's promise to Abraham, just step outside at night and take a look at the stars.  God promised Abraham that his children will be as numerous as the stars of heaven and the sands of the sea. (Genesis 22:17)

The autumn stars would like to remind everyone that this is the best time of year to enjoy the heavenly constellations.  The weather is not too cold (yet) and there aren't any pesky mosquitoes to bother you.  You might see the Big Dipper that was once called the Great Plowshare by our ancient ancestors.  Or you might be able to find the belt of Orion, once called Nimrod the Great Hunter.  Even without a telescope, you can still
see about 5,000 stars on a clear evening and this should keep you busy for some time.

With a telescope, you can see nearly 40,000 of our distant cousins.  So, take some time to witness one of the most awesome light shows in Creation.
